These WW1 Medals belonged to Moses Knighton Junior, my maternal Grandad. Joining the army in 1914 at the age of 28, he left behind his life as a coal miner. By the time he left for Egypt and the Balkans, he had a young family: Dorothy, born in 1913 and Alfred, born in 1915.
Shortly after returning home at the end of the war, he separated from his wife, Emma. At some point between 1920 – 1923, he met my Grandma Sarah. The rest as they say is history and the reason I am here.
